Donor Services

The Youngstown Foundation is dedicated to providing personalized, comprehensive services to help donors fulfill their philanthropic goals.

As a public charity, tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, the foundation adheres to the highest standards to operate in the public view and the public interest. The Youngstown Foundation is a member of Philanthropy Ohio and the Council on Foundations, and our policies and procedures reflect the organization standards established by these industry leaders.

Personalized services for donors include:

Financial Updates

All donors receive a regularly updated fund status report. The Youngstown Foundation encourages current donors to make written recommendations from their fund and verify prior grants made from their fund. In addition, we will arrange seminars with the investment manager of a particular donor's fund in order to review the fund's current market performance.

Educational Events

Donors and fund holders are invited to attend events and site visits focusing on issues pertinent to our community and nation. These events feature informed opinion makers, and aim to stimulate quality dialogue between funders, grantees and experts in a particular field or issue.

Access to Grantmaking Expertise

Our professional staff and volunteer grantmaking committee members are available to share their knowledge of community needs and to help donors decide where to invest their charitable dollars to achieve the greatest impact.
